ACS (Independent) (ACSI) began their 2011 C Div rugby campaign with a 82-6 win over Junyuan Secondary School (JYSS). Played in a light drizzle over at the Republic Polytechnic, ACSI were quick into their stride and ran in multiple tries during the first half to take a half time lead of 47-0. In the second half, ACSI used the opportunity to rest their regulars and blood their second team. Some lack of discipline by the ACSI players saw them give away 2 penalties in front of the posts. JYSS converted both penalties with aplomb and missed a chance to trim the lead further when they failed to convert a third penalty, this time further out to the sideline. Determined to see the mercy rule applied, the ACSI team moved up a gear and quickly arrived at the magical 80 point number. In a game littered with controversial refereeing decisions, it was played in good spirits and sportsmanship. FT 82-6
